We’ve been quiet lately, but only because there’s been a lot going on. But now that my letter to Santa is done, I can give the garage time.
Now I’m sorry to disappoint you, but there won’t be much going on, we’ll get right into it.
Hello everyone, and welcome to the 2023 “Near Year-End Review Looking to 2024 and Beyond” meeting.
This is also being combined with the 2023 “Garage Owner’s Address to Interested Parties” or “Two Thousand Twenty-Three GOATS” for brevity and ease of use. Having the same acronym as Greatest Of All Time is pure coincidence.
Thank you all for coming.
2023 has been a very good year so far for Lyons Garages. The bank has called numerous times to say our account is outstanding, which really is a testament to our company’s 2D strategy. As a reminder, here are those “D’s”: dedication, design and David Lyons. The 3rd D is quiet, like the handwork I put on it.
Where were we and what did we do? I guess that’s always an important part of a review. Beaulieu was ticked off the list, we visited Bicester a couple of times, the NEC Restoration Show and even said hello to the F1 car guys in Hungary. Auto show visits were down about 345% this year, so we promise to do more in 2024. More in 2024… there is definitely a catchphrase we can work on…
The exit from the garage continues in the right direction: the highest. Despite this, we still get phone calls from people wondering how much longer it will take to finish their car. We don’t like to dwell on that negativity and so we try to look ahead to what we can and probably will do. May be.
We got a new website, remembered the password to our LinkedIn page, and even managed to become an influencer on TikTok. Well, more like community influencers. Where the community is a hundred people. Meh, a win is a win.
Long-term, full-size projects such as the BMW 2002 and Mini Clubman are coming to an end, while a Morris Minor convertible, MG B GT, B Roadster, Mini, Boxster and Pagoda all came out earlier this year . restorations Not to mention the many smaller jobs such as maintenance and mechanical work on Escorts, Corvettes, Mercedes-Benz, Minis, MGs, Triumphs, Jaguars… I’d be here all day if I kept going!
But enough about me. Let’s hear more about myself.
2024 is just around the corner, if you want to book your car in for a service, mechanical work, or want to talk to us about a bigger project, you know what to do! But for those who don’t, pick up the phone and give us a call, or send an email to info@lyonsgarages.com with your car details and a number where we can reach you. We are very solid and will do our best to help you. We are not a charity even if we wink at it.
We have a couple of projects for sale, so where better to tell you than here?
- MG B Roadster – We have a B rubber bumper which, as they say in the industry, is an ideal candidate for restoration.
- A mini shell or two, one of which is seamless and primed
- Another MG B roadster, but this time it’s a shell – a great shell with potential for engine transplant or full restoration
- Morris Minor
- VW Beetle Karmann Convertible
We also have lots…like, LOTS of used parts for Minis and MG Bs in particular, so give us a call and we’ll see if we can help!
As is tradition, we will continue to treat you to amazing photos of the incredible work done by our fantastic team. You will find these photos on all social networks. incredible Also, Cooper, the cat is fine, thanks for asking.
Finally, let’s just say that as the world’s largest sports car restoration team here in Malibu Ireland, we appreciate your feedback. We don’t take it, but we welcome it anyway.
Ride safe, take care of yourself, and do me a little favor: save yourself all the time and hassle, and come to us first. We know what we’re doing and have for longer than anyone. Probably. But more importantly, you would make my life easier if we didn’t have to clean up the mess left by others. Ok thanks, bye.
