A new agreement between Serica Energy and Offshore Helicopter Services UK (OHSUK) means the two will continue their relationship at least beyond eight years. The new contract extension has a term of five years with the possibility of further extensions.
Serica will use H175 and S92 aircraft to service its current operations in the North Sea, particularly the Bruce platform, OHSUK said in its press release.
In April this year, Ultimate Aviation Group acquired OHSUK. OHSUK was previously acquired by CHC from Babcock International Group in 2021, along with Babcock’s offshore oil and gas operations in Denmark and Australia.
Following a Phase 2 investigation by the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), the CMA determined in August 2022 that CHC should divest OHSUK and an auction process took place. A purchase and sale agreement was signed on 30 December 2022, under which CHC agreed to sell OHSUK to Ultimate Aviation Group.
“This extension represents the confidence in OHSUK and the excellent customer service our team strives to deliver every day,” said Shaun Roseveere, CEO of Ultimate Aviation Group. “We are delighted to continue our extremely positive relationship with one of our high-profile clients and look forward to the next five years and beyond.”
“Market conditions remain challenging across the industry and our continued partnership with Serica demonstrates that our business can have a sustainable future and their confidence in our ability to deliver at all times at the highest level,” he said Roseveere.
Serica is boosting production and investing in high-quality North Sea assets, OHSUK said in its statement. It has a balance of oil and gas production and is responsible for around five per cent of natural gas produced in the UK, a key element in the UK’s energy transition, he added, noting that its portfolio comes from from multiple hubs in the UK North Sea. .
“Serica is now one of the UK’s leading oil and gas companies, providing vital energy to the UK and supporting an extensive supply chain in Scotland and beyond,” said Mike Killeen, Vice President of Operations at Serica , in a statement from the company.
“The safe and efficient transport of our workforce to and from their workplace is crucial to our business. We are delighted to be able to extend our partnership with OHS for a further five years and look forward to them continuing to deliver the same high standard of service that Serica currently receives,” he added.
