Controls technology specialist Proserv has moved to a new dedicated facility in Dammam as it looks to strengthen and expand its customer experience and establish itself as the partner of choice in Saudi Arabia.
Proserv said it has invested a significant sum in the bespoke site, located near the headquarters of major national oil company Aramco. The Aberdeen-based company said it is looking to increase its activities within the digital arena in Saudi Arabia, including real-time condition monitoring and industrial automation across the energy landscape, including renewables . The strategy reflects Proserv’s broader global digitization drive in conjunction with various technology partners, the company noted.
The new base provides key upgrades to enhance Proserv’s well-established superior service delivery with targeted investment in an in-house instrumentation calibration area as well as a purpose-built pressure test facility, Proserv said. The site also incorporates manufacturing, service and renovation areas within its 10,760-square-foot footprint, the company added.
“This new facility, with its increased and improved capabilities, is a testament to our proactive ambitions to drive this business into exciting new areas here in the Kingdom. Our absolute commitment to supporting the Saudi economy and building new skills in its workforce is long-standing and Proserv’s future direction towards cutting-edge technologies and potentially new markets will only reinforce and expand this,” said Proserv Saudi Arabia CEO. , Chris Chambers.
“Across every facet of our global business, we are leveraging our controls expertise to deliver real-time monitoring, intelligence insights to improve operational strategy, and ultimately critical infrastructure optimization. Saudi Arabia represents a market with great potential,” added Angus Rodger, Vice President of Services.
The relocation and upgrade of capabilities at Proserv’s Saudi Arabia site follows a similar move made earlier this year at its base in Chennai, India, the company noted. The increase in staff and the growth in its breadth of activities meant that the team needed not only additional space, but also the scale for greater internal capacity, he noted.
Proserv has moved to its own dedicated site in south Chennai, comprising an area of 9,150 square feet, offering a manufacturing and service workshop along with a bespoke pressure testing area, the company said. The new facility underpins its role and expands its expertise, as a vital global functional support network, across disciplines including engineering, effective global supply chain sourcing and product creation, added.
The Chennai team not only provides this core support across the Arabian Peninsula and North Africa, but also across Proserv’s global business, Proserv said. Among multiple ongoing projects, he is currently collaborating with colleagues based in Saudi Arabia on real-time monitoring of industrial equipment as part of the push for digital technologies and intelligence , said Proserv.
“Chennai is a key location for us and the move earlier this year allows the team to grow their skills within their own dedicated space to deliver techno-commercial solutions for the wider controls market, both in oil and gas and renewables.Globally, our team in Chennai is producing valuable work across many critical functions, and locally, this new facility also gives us a great base from which to target and attack the many opportunities available in the Indian market,” stated Geert Kooi, Senior Vice President, Operations.
“These upgrades to the facilities in both Saudi Arabia and Chennai are crucial steps in enabling these talented teams a platform from which to thrive and grow locally, as well as contributing an important role within the our broad global business strategy, including the development and delivery of new digital technology solutions to our customers across the energy sector. We look forward to seeing continued progress and development in these locations over the coming years,” added the CEO of Proserv, Davis Larssen.
