SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – Two victims were shot in their car and crashed on the 690 Eastbound after a suspect allegedly shot into their vehicle while driving.
According to Syracuse police, a couple was driving eastbound on 690 on Sunday, June 4, around 5:05 a.m., when another vehicle pulled up and started shooting at their car, shooting the driver. , which crashed into the Teall Avenue exit barrier.
Syracuse Police and Syracuse Fire Departments were dispatched to the Eastbound 690 Teall Avenue exit where they found an unoccupied and heavily damaged vehicle blocking the Teall Avenue exit ramp .
A 22-year-old woman, who was the passenger in the crashed vehicle, was found nearby with a gunshot wound to the hand a short time later, and police were told the 34-year-old driver was struck by gunfire which resulted in his vehicle crashing into the barrier.
She was treated by American Medical Response and transported to Upstate Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the crashed vehicle was also found nearby and had gunshot wounds to the face and arm. He was treated by EMS with AMR and rushed to Upstate Hospital.
Police say at the hospital he was found to have been hit by multiple projectiles. He remains in hospital and is listed in stable condition.
