Neptune Energy has been rewarded for its support of local communities and the development of Scotland’s future workforce with Youth Guarantee employer status.
By supporting the Youth Guarantee initiative, employers work with young people aged 16-24 to provide direct employment, apprenticeships, further and further education support, training and volunteering opportunities, Neptune Energy said in his statement.
The company added that it works with schools across the region, showcasing a variety of career pathways as well as highlighting the exciting opportunities available in the energy industry. The company has organized skills workshops, conducted mock interviews, developed video content and helped develop students’ presentation skills.
“It is very important to support and mentor all young people as they prepare to enter the workforce. This is particularly important in the energy industry to ensure we are driving the next generation of scientists, engineers and energy professionals who will drive the transition forward,” said Alan Muirhead, Country Director of Neptune Energy in the United Kingdom.
“We need a talented and diverse workforce to continue to deliver safe, low-carbon and affordable energy. The young people we’ve been supporting continue to impress us with their innovative thinking, and I look forward to welcoming more minds and new ideas in the coming years. It’s an exciting time,” he added.
The development of the youth workforce (DYW) plays a key role in the delivery of the Youth Guarantee initiative. DYW regional groups help employers use the Youth Guarantee scheme effectively to plan, structure and deliver their activities, notes Neptune Energy.

“Our team has been delighted to support Neptune’s partnership activities with Oldmachar Academy and Alford Academy, as well as their ongoing work to promote STEM learning and careers to young people, showcasing the different roles that young people they can have in the energy industry,” Milne. added
“We are excited about the prospect of new partnership projects through the Youth Guarantee,” continued Milne.
Throughout 2023, Neptune said it will continue to work with schools and higher education providers to help prepare young people for their future careers.
Throughout 2022, Neptune Energy not only supported Scotland’s young workforce, but also donated funds to help the country’s sleepers over the past winter.
