FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. – Three people are dead after a car landed at the bottom of a quarry in Frederick County, Maryland, on Sunday, officials said.
The incident happened at Lehigh Road and Peter Shriner Road in Libertytown around 8:30 a.m., according to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.
Frederick County Fire and Rescue is on scene looking for additional occupants.
Residents should expect a heavy police presence and rescue teams.
It is unclear what caused the crash. Police have not released the identities of anyone involved.
The accident remains under investigation.
