The mission of the Philadelphia Union Foundation is to harness the power of soccer to be an agent of change in the Chester community, and their work with Chester High School Soccer is one of the many ways they bring that vision to life on a daily basis.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Union hosted a group of student athletes from the team for a stadium tour, where they had the opportunity to help the club prepare for Foundation Night festivities by use your best artistic skills.
They were tasked with painting the vehicle used for the annual Car Smash; with spray cans and brushes, they worked together to give her a thorough Charlotte-themed paint job.
The group, which is a mix of Chester High School and Showalter STEM Academy attendees, illustrated the blue crown, goals and more through the once-white car, which will soon be destroyed by faithful of the Union.
The Car Smash is the night’s marquee activity at Subaru Plaza: fans can donate $5 for three hammer swings at a car decked out in silver, black and blue designs created by the team itself.
