The new Vauxhall Corsa is a facelifted, refreshed version of Britain’s best-selling small car. It gets a distinctive new front end that brings it in line with other Vauxhalls, plus a big boost to the electric vehicle range for the new Vauxhall Corsa Electric.
The new Vauxhall Corsa will also later be offered for the first time with a 48V hybrid system. The popular turbo petrol engines also continue, with both manual and automatic gearboxes.
The new Vauxhall Corsa is a key player in the popular UK supermini sector. Although the Ford Fiesta will soon be discontinued, other competitive alternatives include the Volkswagen Polo, Toyota Yaris, Peugeot 208, Renault Clio, Skoda Fabia and the budget-priced Dacia Sandero.
There will also be a new Vauxhall Corsa Electric to compete with best-selling models such as the Renault Zoe and Peugeot e-208.
2023 Vauxhall Corsa Prices and Release Date
The new Vauxhall Corsa will open for orders later in the summer of 2023. Pricing for the new Vauxhall Corsa has not been announced. Current car prices start from just over £19,000. The new Vauxhall Corsa is still likely to start for less than £20,000.
As with the current car, the new Vauxhall Corsa Electric will be significantly more expensive; expect prices to start from around £34,000.
The new Vauxhall Corsa will be launched in UK dealerships in late 2023. In the meantime, deliveries of the current Vauxhall Corsa will continue.
To help make things easier for those looking to buy or lease a new Vauxhall Corsa, the British firm says the trim line will be simple, making it less difficult to choose the right model.
Style, interior and technology of the 2023 Vauxhall Corsa
The new Vauxhall Corsa gains a distinctive new look that makes it much more stylish and attractive. The key change is the addition of the Vauxhall Vizor up front. It’s a smooth, full-length black panel that sits between the standard LED headlights. It contains (and hides) the various driving aids and safety sensors.
A redesigned version of the Griffin logo sits at the center of the new Vauxhall Corsa, which has a modern black finish. IntelliLux Pixel LED headlights are also available. These automatically cut the headlights of oncoming drivers so drivers are not dazzled, and are a high-end feature typically seen in Audis and Mercedes-Benzes.
The new Vauxhall Corsa is also available with a cool black styling pack, which includes a black roof and smoked LED taillights. The rear hatchback featured a ‘Corsa’ script and a cool shark fin antenna at the back. Those buying or leasing a new Vauxhall Corsa can choose 17-inch alloys with black effect detailing. Smart new metallic paint colors will also be offered.
The new Vauxhall Corsa also gets improvements inside. The infotainment system has been completely updated. It is now based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon cabin platform, which includes the use of artificial intelligence (AI). The new operating system features sharper and easier-to-use menus and graphics.
Over-the-air upgrades are now a feature of the new Vauxhall Corsa. These allow the latest features and upgrades to be added without the owner having to visit a dealer. The system includes voice control with natural voice recognition, so commands can be made by saying ‘Hey Vauxhall’.
The new Vauxhall Corsa also offers an advanced Connected 3D Navigation satellite navigation system.
The new Vauxhall Corsa’s central infotainment touchscreen has been upgraded to 10.0 inches. A 7.0-inch controller display continues. This has also improved the graphics. The new Vauxhall Corsa comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and a wireless smartphone charger is available for the first time.
Other smart tech in the new Vauxhall Corsa includes a high-resolution panoramic rear-view parking camera, plus adaptive cruise control with speed limiter and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection.
The new Vauxhall Corsa also has a new steering wheel design and an improved gear lever. There are also new seat models and upholstery options.
2023 Vauxhall Corsa Engines, Performance, Fuel Economy and Electric Range
The new Vauxhall Corsa will continue with a fuel-efficient 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine as its main powertrain. A variety of power outputs will be offered, with popular options including 100ps and 130ps variants. Expect five- or six-speed manual gearboxes and an optional eight-speed automatic.
The new Vauxhall Corsa Electric gets a significant boost for 2023. An all-new 51kWh battery is available, using ‘state-of-the-art’ technology. This is combined with an improved 156ps electric motor. It results in improved performance and a healthy extended range of 255 miles, 15% more than the current Vauxhall Corsa Electric.
The new Vauxhall Corsa Electric will also be available with the current electric motor, as a more affordable alternative. This uses an older 50kWh battery and 136ps electric motor, for a range of up to 222 miles between charges.
All new Vauxhall Corsa Electrics have an 11kW on-board charger as standard. With a wallbox, charging from 0% to 100% takes just over five hours. 100kW fast charging functionality is also included, offering a charge from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes.
For those not yet ready to go electric, the new Vauxhall Corsa will be available with a hybrid powertrain for the first time. More details will follow, but Vauxhall has confirmed it will be a 48-volt system, with an extended ability to shut down the engine when moving at slower speeds. It is likely to be paired with an automatic gearbox.

Why does the new Vauxhall Corsa Electric have two similarly sized batteries?
The new Vauxhall Corsa Electric is offered in two versions, 50kWh 136ps and 51kWh 156ps. The 51 kWh battery uses the latest technology, so it is more efficient and offers a range of 255 miles instead of the previous battery’s 222 miles. It’s a similar approach to Tesla, where some models have newer battery technology than others.
How popular is the new Vauxhall Corsa?
The new Vauxhall Corsa aims to continue the impressive popularity of the current car. It is the best-selling car in the UK so far in 2023, was the most popular supermini in 2022 and the best-selling car overall in 2021.
Can I still buy a new Vauxhall Corsa with a petrol engine?
The new Vauxhall Corsa is still available with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine and a new petrol hybrid powertrain joins the range later this summer.
