I hate stopping when I’m trying to get somewhere. It’s usually because I’m late so I have to look in the mirror. In a civilized society there are traffic rules for a reason! 😁
Red lights, green lights, yellow lights, red arrows, flashing lights, on and on. For the most part, most people know that “right on red” after a complete stop is legal in Massachusetts. What about the left in red? I always thought the answer was a resounding no.
I was wrong. A little.
Here’s when you can legally turn left at a red light in Massachusetts
You can turn right at a red light only after you have come to a complete stop and yield to pedestrians or other vehicles in your path. You cannot run red if there is a DO NOT RUN RED sign. You can turn left at a red light when driving on a one-way street and turn left on another one-way street. -mass.gov
You may never encounter a situation like this in your life, but now you know when you can legally make a left turn on red! There really is nothing worse than breaking some road rule and then seeing the police and hoping they haven’t seen you! 😂
Travel on public roads is controlled by signs, signals, pavement markings and driving laws. No matter what vehicle you drive or what road you drive on, you must obey these “rules of the road”.
