Ipieca has named Krish Ravishankar of Oxy and Tony Webster of Hess Corporation as its new vice presidents.
Both Ravishankar and Webster have been active members of Ipieca for over 20 years. In addition to his appointment as Vice President, Ravishankar will continue to represent Oxy on various Ipieca working groups, including Climate, Environment, Reporting, Social Responsibility and Water. Webster will also continue to represent Hess on Ipieca’s Climate and Reporting working groups.
Ravishankar brings 39 years of energy industry experience to Ipieca. He joined Oxy in 2004 and currently serves as Senior Director of Environment and Sustainability, supporting international environmental, environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues and international business development within the HSE function . His role supports Oxy’s assets in the US, Middle East and North Africa. He has previously worked for the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation.
“I am delighted to take on the role of Vice President of Ipieca and to continue working with Ipieca to support the industry in tackling some of the world’s biggest sustainability challenges. By developing and sharing best practices and tools, Ipieca enables the oil, gas and alternative energy industry to expand action in the areas of climate, nature, people and sustainability,” Ravishankar said.
Webster has spent more than 22 years with Hess. He leads Hess’s Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) sustainability reporting team and is responsible for coordinating the sustainability strategy, external sustainability reporting, ESG surveys and internal reporting systems of EHS. He also has responsibilities for sustainability issues in Hess’ global operations.
Prior to joining Hess in 2001, Webster worked as a climate and air quality researcher for the UN Environment Program and WHO.
“It is a privilege to work with Ipieca’s 78 member companies, more than 1,000 subject matter experts from these organizations, as well as stakeholders from a range of academic, civil society and UN organizations in crucial issues such as climate action, protecting and improving nature, human rights and the Sustainable Development Goals,” Webster said.
Ravishankar and Webster join Ipieca president Morten Mikkelsen of Equinor and fellow vice presidents Paul Krishna of ExxonMobil and Karen Westley of Shell, as well as a team of senior sustainability leaders from across Ipieca’s overall membership of the Ipieca Executive Committee.
Prior to these last two appointments, Westley and Krishna were named Vice Presidents in December 2021. President Mikkelsen was named to the position in late May 2020.
