LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – A bullet pierced a man’s car Monday after his life was threatened during a love triangle dispute in Lehigh Acres.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), the bullet went through the victim’s driver’s side rear door.
The victim said it all started when he was parked on the side of the road on Owen Avenue South.
The victim told deputies he recognized a silver Mercedes Sedan parked a few feet in front of him and thought he saw his ex-girlfriend. The Mercedes took off just after the victim tried to approach.
The victim followed the Mercedes that was driving westbound on SR-82. After driving a few blocks, the Mercedes stopped. The victim saw his ex-girlfriend in the passenger seat and her new boyfriend in the driver’s seat. The victim told deputies that his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend was the man she had cheated on him with.
When the victim got up, the driver pulled out a gun and threatened to kill him. The victim grabbed his head for protection and shot himself – the bullet went through the back side door.
“It’s common sense to communicate, but how easy is it to do these days?” Precious Crockett asked after hearing about this incident.
“Next time, take a couple of deep breaths and think before you react,” is Crockett’s advice to the world to avoid dangerous situations like these.
The car was moved to remove the bullet and place it as evidence.
