The story behind these cars is a sad one, but Porsche seems to be about to make a comeback.

The classic barn find story is that a vehicle goes into a structure and people forget about them for decades. This is not the case with the classic sports cars in this video.
Owner Helen Corbett knows the full story of the 1978 Porsche 911 SC in her garage. It originally belonged to her father-in-law and then to her husband. Unfortunately, he died before he could fully enjoy the car. He kept a folder full of documents dating back to his father-in-law’s purchase in the mid-1980s.
There is also a Triumph TR6 in the garage. Helen’s husband got it as a retirement project as something to look forward to. Unfortunately, it hasn’t moved since it entered space.
The 911 is the star of the show, though. The first step is to disengage the brakes. They really aren’t too bad because a few taps with a mallet set them free. Also, one tire is flat.
The car then receives a light wash. This is not a complete detail. Rinsing and a little soap is enough to make a significant difference in the appearance of the vehicle.
Getting the 911 to work is the hard part. There is no oil. Evidence suggests that Helen’s husband was preparing to do a tune-up with fresh oil, a filter and spark plugs. For whatever reason, that never happened.
The car finally gets this job. However, this is not enough to start the engine. It revs smoothly and the engine is sparking. This suggests that lack of fuel is the main problem.
The team is trying to create a solution by bypassing the fuel tank and creating a temporary alternative. This is only mildly successful, however. The 911 manages to bark into life briefly, but never settles into an idle.
It doesn’t look like anyone could get this car working with simple tools, but an expert mechanic might not have to do much to fix things. A complete fuel system upgrade from the lines to the pumps and everything else would probably be enough to make this 911 roadworthy again.
