- Remote diagnosis – Using connected technology, Volvo Trucks can remotely diagnose whether a truck needs to be scheduled for maintenance or repair. If any problem arises, the driver is notified to contact the dealer and the dealer has instant information about the case.
- Advanced Dealer Preparation – Fleets can schedule routine visits up to 30 days in advance, giving dealers ample lead time to secure all the parts and resources needed for the visit, allowing them to get their trucks back on the road. customers faster.
- Combined updates – Multiple vehicle upgrades can be combined into a single service visit to reduce the number of service appointments required. For example, a 150 km valve adjustment will be completed during a 120 km preventive maintenance service.
- Reduced environmental impact – Instead of relying on fixed mileage intervals, Volvo Trucks technicians will perform an oil analysis at each oil drain to determine if oil drains are occurring at the right time or if the intervals need to be modified. This approach helps reduce the amount of oil drains performed, which reduces the associated environmental impact.
- Proactive inspections of 74 points – After preventive maintenance, trained Volvo Trucks technicians perform a 74-point inspection to determine if any additional repairs are needed before the truck leaves the dealership. These comprehensive inspections have proven to provide a significant decrease in Department of Transportation (DOT) violations for customers.
- Reliable / quality parts – Certified Volvo Trucks technicians use genuine or authorized Volvo parts with access to all the necessary specialist equipment, diagnostic tools and database systems. Qualified and trained mechanics perform and follow the original Volvo service process operations required to ensure uptime and functionality.
- Flexible contract terms – Customers can purchase the Volvo Blue service contract for coverage between 100,000 and 600,000 miles (in 50,000 or 100,000 mile increments), allowing flexibility based on the expected life cycle of the truck within the fleet.
- Convenient financing options –The Volvo Blue service contract offers convenient invoicing by bundling services and maintenance costs with the purchase of the truck or built into monthly payments, allowing customers to plan vehicle maintenance with regular scheduled expenses.
“Customers who take out the Volvo Blue service contract experience longer truck uptime than they had before, reducing the number of oil changes and breakdowns with Volvo Trucks’ optimized service plan,” he said Mike Furst, Leasing and Services Contract Manager. technology solutions, Volvo Trucks North America. “We also have the ability to diagnose and repair some powertrain-related issues through remote software updates and proactively identify existing or future issues through a comprehensive 74-point inspection plan at any of our nearly 40 certified dealers of Volvo across the country.”
