Police say a 24-year-old woman was seriously injured when she was hit by a car in downtown Providence over the weekend.
About the incident
Poc arrived just after 10pm on Saturday night for a report of a pedestrian hit at the corner of Exchange Terrace and Dorrance Street.

Police say they found the driver outside the vehicle, which had hit a woman who was in a crosswalk in Dorrance.
According to police, the victim was thrown to the pavement and suffered serious injuries; she was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the vehicle received a citation for failure to respect the right of way in pedestrian crossings.
