A recent report from GoodCarBadCar reveals that the sport-tuned 2023 Subaru WRX is in high demand and is the second best-selling new sports car. So how does the Subaru WRX compare in sales to all the other sports models? In the first quarter of 2023, the WRX has outsold every other sports car in North America except the new mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette.

Subaru of America reported that sales of the next-generation 2023 Subaru WRX were up 1,373 percent in March, with 3,005 performance models delivered to customers. The WRX had another significant increase from March 2022, when it had only 204 sales as Subaru Corporation switched to the new model. The WRX is now up 1221.0 percent in the first three months.
The WRX is closing in on leadership in the compact sports car segment. The Chevrolet Corvette is number one with 7,904 sales, and the Subaru WRX is next with 7,609 models delivered in the first quarter. After the first two sports cars, sales of the models decline.

The Audi A5 is next with 5,598 sales, Mazda MX-5 Miata (2,590), Toyota GR86 (2,038), Porsche Taycan (1,864), BMW 2 Series (1,383), Subaru BRZ (985), Toyota Supra (871) , Nissan 370Z (466), Lexus RC (380) and Infiniti Q60 (374).
Honda doesn’t separate the Civic Type R from regular Civic sales, so we can’t provide specific numbers. The same goes for the Volkswagen Golf R.
With a starting MSRP of $31,625 including destination, the WRX is arguably America’s best sports car value. The 2023 Corvette Stingray coupe in 1LT trim has a starting MSRP of $61,900, excluding destination charge.
What is the price of the 2023 WRX?
The 6-speed manual trim level of the 2023 WRX starts at $31,625. WRX with Subaru Performance Transmission (SPT) is $33,475, WRX Premium 6-speed manual is $34,125, WRX Premium SPT is $36,175, WRX Limited 6-speed manual is $38,515, WRX Limited SPT is $40,765 and the WRX GT is $415. Price includes destination and shipping charges ($1,020).
