Police are looking for people who tried to steal tires from a car in a Southington hotel parking lot.
Police said they were checking the parking lot of the Homewood Suites at 1096 West St. shortly before 5 a.m. when they interrupted people trying to steal tires from a 2023 Toyota Camry rental in the parking lot.
Officers heard metal hit the ground and saw a green vehicle entered by two masked men.
Officers attempted to stop the suspects, but they drove off.
The vehicle was described as a green Honda Accord with a stolen license plate, BA-08309, and police have released a photo of it.
Police said the vehicle may have heavy damage on the driver’s side.
The driver took the ramp to Interstate 84 East, heading to Hartford.
