In February, Ferrari announced that four models would debut throughout 2023 before proceeding to unveil the first of the bunch as the Roma Spider. A hotter iteration of the SF90 Stradale could be among the three Prancing Horses we see later this year, as the exotic Italian marque has been repeatedly spotted testing prototypes. Tentatively known as the “Versione Speciale,” the amped-up supercar was spotted roaming the streets of Maranello.
A new spy video features a pair of prototypes, which appear to be wearing the production body. Ferrari usually shies away from putting big wings on road cars, but the top-spec SF90 seems to be an exception. It’s impossible to hide such a large aerodynamic element, but nevertheless, the exotic Italian brand decided to slap on camouflage.

The SF90 VS will essentially be a track-focused version, presumably with a bit more power, so expect it to reach four figures and therefore at least match the 1,001bhp Lamborghini Revuelto. The extreme aero package won’t be about the wing, as the prototypes have been stuck with hood ducts. It’s unclear if the extra strength and downforce will come with a weight loss as you’d expect from a hard derivative.

In a video posted this month on Ferrari’s official website, Enrico Galliera, director of marketing and sales, teased the spicy SF90 at the company’s Fiorano track. He said it will be a “very special model” developed to offer “incredible performance on the track as well as on the road”. In the coming days, the company will contact loyal customers and give them the opportunity to order the car.
In typical Ferrari special edition fashion, expect high price and low volume. Chances are that by the time the beefed-up Stradale is officially revealed to the commoners, the entire production run will have been allocated.
