rizki1, 2 hours agoanything $300 or more is a “gaming” phone, minus RGB, shoulder button and fan… moreBy your logic, any bicycle is a motorcycle, but without the engine, oil, gears and electronics. But other than that, everything is fine, not much difference 🤣

I love gaming phones. I’d even buy one as a daily driver, but the terrible lack of durability in these things makes me go for something else. And most case makers will ignore gaming phones, so you can’t buy a thousand phones only to accidentally break them in half after 2 days of purchase

These gaming phones are not for everyone because of their price.
These are basically high-end phones and they all cost more than 600 euros.
You can have a playstation or an xbox for that money and some games too.
Also most of these so called gamers are probably minors living off their parents wallets so they probably don’t have the money to get these gamer phones and because they are phones and with Android you can’t buy the models of 3-4 years because they have lost all the support of the operating system and for the games that evolve with the operating system that is important.
These gaming phones would make sense only if they were like a good cpu/gpu combination with good screen and bigger battery. There is nothing else needed like fancy cameras and so on. You have the buttons for these and so on and a maximum price of 250 euros so that most can afford it. It’s still a toy and made like a toy. The phone is just a feature like the internet connection
blue, 1 hour agoI guess you’ve never seen the “high” setting.Does Candy Crush need more?
Shit, there are currently no games that require a dedicated phone just for them
Anonymous, 2 hours agoBuy a steam rig or other gaming laptop.Yes. I would play on my smartphones all the time using an SN30 Pro as the SNES controller is my favorite controller of all time followed by the GameCube Wavebird. But it’s more convenient to use a dedicated gaming handheld with dedicated physical controls. No input delay. No need to load the Bluetooth driver.
My Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 can emulate retro games better than my modified Vita. My Vita can only make it to PS1/PSP at best. The N64 is still hit or miss. But I prefer playing retro games on the Vita. Just easier to pick up and play. And since I’m back to using my Flip as a daily controller, it saves battery life if I’m using a Vita or Switch game instead of my main phone.
Until another OEM can offer a handheld for $400 like Valve does, I don’t see anyone beating the Steam Deck. Is perfect? No. There are better handhelds out there with better specs. But for the best price for performance, it’s the best. People can use it beyond just a gaming device. It’s still technically a laptop. You can watch some Netflix. You can download torrents.
The Steam Deck community is also very helpful. There are so many tutorials that can make your experience even better and easier. The homebrew community has kept the Vita alive all this time and this came out in late 2011. The SD community will do the same for over 10 more years. Modding is forever. I see Sega Nomads being modified to an LCD panel all the time.

You like it, you want it, you have the money, then buy it.
You don’t like it, you don’t want it, you don’t have the money, shut up.

Rodolfo, 2 hours agoNot all flagship gaming phones are priced higher than the average phone, take Red Magic 8 as an example… moreAsus relies solely on the prestige of the ROG brand here. Redmagic is a better buy any day than this. No accessories or gimmicks can make this worth the higher €600 price tag.

anything $300+ is a “gaming” phone, minus RGB, shoulder button and fan… but enough with 200Hz+ touch sampling, decent cooling, 500K antutu score which is good to play all games on high settings.

Not all flagship gaming phones are priced higher than the average phone, take Red Magic 8 as an example, which is even cheaper with high specs.
I’m also one of those who don’t need superior cameras. Heck, I even wish that at least one manufacturer would remove the front camera altogether because the full screen is more important to me than the useless front camera that I never use.

With the existence of GameSir X3 with built-in peltier cooler, it makes me question even more the idea of buying a gaming phone in the first place.
