WALK, Utah — “They’re having fun, we’re not having fun!” Trevor Zollinger was frustrated after finding his newly purchased Subaru Outback riddled with what appear to be pellet gun dents.
“One two three four five six seven….there are over 60 dents on the side,” Zollinger said.
Zollinger believes the pellet gun attack happened Thursday between 7:00 and 9:00 pm while he was visiting his grandparents in Magna, near 3400 South 7700 West.
“We were talking, mingling, eating cake,” he said.
By the time Zollinger returned home that night, it was already dark, so he didn’t notice the dents in his vehicle until the next morning.
“The next morning when we found him, my wife said ‘Trevor what is that?’ I said they look like pellet dents!”
Zollinger parked in the street behind his grandfather’s truck, which was also full of pellet mouths.
“Luckily, theirs isn’t that bad,” he said as he showed KSL TV the damage. “We have spills here, one, two, three, four … over 20 spills on the driver’s side.”
Unified police said they’ve had several incidents involving pellet guns in Magna over the past few months, Zollinger’s being just the latest. The attacks occurred between 7200 West and 8000 West, and 3500 South and 4100 South and all involved vehicles. It is unknown if they are connected or who is responsible.
“I feel violated, I don’t know if I can trust the vehicle on the street,” Zollinger said.
She’s confident a neighbor’s security camera captured one of the two vehicles involved in the attack on her family’s vehicles, and she hopes sharing the footage will make the community aware.
“I don’t feel safe in this area now, which I have for the last 20 years.”
