Toyo Engineering Corp. announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Toyo Engineering India Pvt. Ltd. has been awarded a contract by ExxonMobil Lubricants Private Limited (EMLPL) for the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) of a 159,000 kL/year lubricant manufacturing plant at Isambe, Maharashtra, India.
EMLPL is a wholly owned subsidiary of global energy major Exxon Mobil Corp. ExxonMobil markets a wide range of Mobil brand motor oils, greases and lubricants for the automotive and industrial sectors.
This project, ExxonMobil’s first greenfield investment in India, will manufacture Mobil brand high performance lubricants to meet growing domestic demand from industrial sectors such as manufacturing, steel, power, mining and construction, as well as the commercial and passenger vehicle segments. Once operational, the plant will source most of its raw materials and all packaging from local companies, thereby contributing to the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. It is expected to begin commercial operations by the end of 2025.
EMLPL considers this investment a step to strengthen its presence in the country.
With the order wrap for EMLPL’s lubricants manufacturing plant, Toyo-India has further consolidated its position as an EPC player in the energy sector, especially for high performance lubricants.
