A woman who was in a serious wreck on the Broken Arrow Freeway was able to find the good Samaritan who pulled her out of her car while it was hanging upside down.
Grace Kifer said right after the wreck, she thought she was alone. But she quickly realized that someone was there to help her. Then, he wanted to track him down.
Grace said she saw someone speeding up next to her in the mirror, then they swerved and overcorrected, crashing into her.
“I remember saying out loud, ‘no, no, no,’ as I saw it coming, it happened so quickly it’s hard to articulate how scary it was,” Grace said.
Grace said her car flipped twice and she was terrified as she waited there, hanging upside down.
“It was dark and smoky and dusty and noisy, my airbags had gone off so I couldn’t see anything out the windows,” Grace said.
He said he suddenly heard someone yelling, wondering if he was okay.
He said his name was John and pulled her out of the car and led her to a group of people waiting for help to arrive.
“I know it didn’t save my life, apart from being hurt, I was fine, but I felt like my life was being saved,” she said.
Grace suffered a concussion, a sprained ankle, bruised ribs and a bruised tailbone.
She said that when the ambulance got there, John was gone and she wanted to find him. She said she needed him to know the impact his kindness had on her.
“I need him to know how important he was to me. I really thought I was alone and to hear someone say, ‘you’re okay’ and make me realize I wasn’t alone in the scariest time of my life was amazing. ,” she said.
She said what John did was a reminder to her that there is good in the world, and she just wanted to say thank you.
“It wasn’t just a good deed, it was a great deed. He did a good thing,” he said.
