We’ve had several posts lately about people crashing into houses Pete Davidson loses control of his Mercedes to a jeep driver who crashes into a house so hard, he brought the house down from its foundations. But the latter is a real headache. Usually, drivers who crash into people’s houses only get to the first floor because that’s where the road usually is. But a California driver somehow managed to throw his car onto the second floor of the house they crashed into.
KRON4 reports that the accident in question occurred in Placer County, California, a relatively small county between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe. And while the basics of what happened are clear: a Subaru Outback ended up on the second floor of someone’s house, we still don’t know exactly how the car got up there. It’s likely that speed was a factor, but officials have yet to explain how the car ended up or the condition of the driver at the time of the crash.
The good news is that no one in the house was hurt. It appears the driver was injured, but his injuries from flying into a house appear to have been minor. In order to rescue the driver, however, emergency crews had to cut the power to the house and stabilize the roof enough for them to get up there safely. And based on the photos that CAL FIRE NEU has uploaded to Facebookit doesn’t exactly look like it was a simple process.
Interestingly, this wasn’t the only car to go airborne and land on the roof of a house in the last week. Saturday, a driver in Yadkinville, North Carolina he reportedly lost control of his car and “he climbed into a car parked in the driveway like a ramp and crashed into the roof of a house.” So maybe this happened in California too. Fortunately, no one in the Yadkinville home was injured, although the driver and passenger were taken to the hospital for treatment.
