Does General Motors need another mid-engine or sleek two-seater it can sell alongside the Chevy Corvette? Maybe, maybe not. However, that doesn’t mean we wouldn’t love to see such a new model come to life, and these two renderings show two routes GM could take to design a stylish new coupe.
Both sketches were shared on General Motors Design’s Instagram page. The former is finished in silver and would perhaps be the most suitable for the Cadillac brand, given that its design bears some resemblance to the famous Cadillac Cien Concept from 2002.

Although the car has only been sketched from the side, we can see that it rocks with a very short front overhang and pronounced wheel arches. The windshield also extends far forward and the car features a set of massive wheels. The shape of the doors suggests they could open like gull-wing doors, while the rear window would give viewers an unobstructed view of the engine compartment.
Then there is the second design, also of a potential Cadillac flagship. It has been brought to life by designer Jacob Lovins and would be a perfect fit for the revitalized Cadillac brand as it seeks to re-establish itself as “The Standard of the World”.
It’s shaped like a front-engine model, but could be powered by electric motors. Whatever the case may be, there’s no denying that it’s bold. It appears to have an extremely long hood, large wheels and two massive doors. We also have a particularly good look at the rear of the car where you’ll see angular LED taillights, an outwardly protruding central element and an angular bumper.
