FOND DU LAC ‒ Several people, including two children, were injured after three crashes early Wednesday in a residential neighborhood in Fond du Lac.
Around 7:14 a.m. Wednesday, Fond du Lac police and firefighters responded to the scene of a crash near the area of East Scott and Roosevelt streets, where they found a North Fond woman du Lac, 33, trapped inside her vehicle. .
As emergency responders helped extricate the woman from her car, another crash was reported at the intersection of Scott and North Main streets.
Police believe the two crashes were related. The car driven by the 33-year-old woman hit a car around Scott and North Main Street and continued eastbound for about a half mile before crashing into a parked pickup truck near East Scott and Roosevelt streets.
The parked pickup truck was then pushed into the path of a third car, creating another crash.
According to the statement, the 33-year-old driver was also carrying two passengers, aged 12 and 14, in the vehicle. The driver and passengers were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver was arrested for operating while impaired with a minor along with other traffic violations. Police said speed and impairment contributed to the crashes.
This incident is under investigation.
