Industry veteran Stephen C. Horn of Florence, South Carolina, died on April 8, 2023. Steve was born on December 13, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Marianne Horn, who precede death He graduated from Western Illinois University in 1971 with a degree in business administration. While at Western Illinois University, he met his wife, Melanie (Johnson) Horn. They were married on September 14, 1974.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Melanie, his two daughters, Nikki (Mike) Pollard of Lafayette, IN, and Jaime (Harry) Ramsbottom of Cary, NC. He is also survived by two brothers, Bill (Judi) Horn of Clermont, FL, and Mike (Debby) Horn of Scottsdale, AZ, five grandchildren, Annie, Jack and Reed Pollard, and Evan and Spencer Ramsbottom, and many nieces and nephews.
Steve spent his career as an automotive sales executive in the automotive aftermarket. He worked for several companies, including Apex Automotive Warehouse, Brake Parts, Inc., Perfection Clutch and ATP. He was well known in his industry and won many awards, including the AWDA Pursuit of Excellence Award and the Northwood Institute Aftermarket Education Award. He was a member of the Automotive Sales Council and the AWDA Hall of Fame.
He was known for his fierce love for his family and friends, his gift for public speaking and engaging conversation, and his passion for finding joy in life. He excelled at making those around him feel special and his favorite saying was “You’re the best.” Steve’s favorite hobbies, which he pursued with passion, were fishing and golf. He especially enjoyed being Pop-Pop and fishing with his grandchildren.

A memorial service and reception will be held at St. John’s Church, 252 S. Dargan St. on Friday, April 14, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. in Florence, at 10:30 a.m., directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home.
