A 12-year-old bicyclist suffered facial injuries after being hit by a 2008 Toyota Sienna van on Route 601 near Reading Boulevard on April 5, according to the Montgomery Township Police Department.
The van, which was driven by a 43-year-old Hillsborough Township woman, was traveling south on Route 601 when it struck the boy, who was trying to cross the road from the north side on his bicycle, police said. The boy, who lives in Belle Mead, had pulled out from behind a line of stopped traffic and was hit by the van.
The boy was not wearing a bicycle helmet and suffered facial injuries, police said. He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment and released.
The accident remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Montgomery Township Police Department Traffic Bureau at 908-359-3222.
