Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India today announced a voluntary recall of a limited number of units of the 2022 model year CB300R. The company has identified that due to the improper manufacturing process of the right engine crankcase cover, there is a possibility that the sealing plug will come off due to the low holding force caused by the engine heat.
This could cause the sealing plug to come off and the engine oil to leak. In the worst case scenario, oil sticking to hot motorcycle parts can cause a fire, its contact with the tires can cause skidding or injury to the rider due to its hot temperature. As a precautionary measure, replacement of the affected parts will be carried out at BigWing dealers across India from 15th April 2023. The replacement will be free of charge, irrespective of the vehicle’s warranty status .
The CB300R sits above the CB300F in Honda’s lineup. It has a price of ₹2,77,267 ex-showroom, Delhi. The motorcycle is sold in only two color schemes. There is Pearl Spartan Red and Matte Steel Black.
The Honda CB300R is powered by a liquid-cooled 286cc single-cylinder engine. Power 30 hp at 9,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 27.5 Nm at 7,500 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with an assisted slipper clutch.
