Deputies: Missing Volusia County teacher’s car found in canal
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office has located the car of a teacher who went missing in 2020. Investigators say Robert Heikka, a teacher at Creekside High School, went missing on October 25, 2020. Heikka worked in the Volusia County School District since 1989 and began teaching at Creekside Middle School in 2002. Her car was found in a canal near Pioneer Trail in New Smyrna Beach, according to the sheriff’s office, and a dive team is working to recover Heikka’s vehicle.
