A lot of games work to try to prevent leaks from appearing in communities, but it seems like they are Fortnite thrives on the culture that is being filtered out as something that many fans are excited about. Each new leak seems harder to believe, with developer Epic Games pushing what’s possible in the game. And the latest leak seems to prove it even more, claiming that custom races and cars are coming to the lobby.
According to a tweet from Fortnite data miner and content creator iFireMonkey, this isn’t the first set of leaks, but more information about something codenamed “DelMar.” It claims that new race-based game modes will be added to the game, with three modes revealed in a previous leak. What’s new about this one is that there will apparently be a “garage” in the main lobby that will allow players to customize a vehicle.
Current leaks point to a garage and some form of customization based on entries in the game files that read “ShowDelMarGarage” and “ShowDMCustomization,” with “DM” representing the event code name. There are also variations on these two messages, but they don’t provide any new information.

Players have been making race maps Fortnite Creative for as long as possible. IFireMonkey seems to hint that these new modes could be official races, as he believes this “garage” will be accessible from the main lobby. The customization rumor sounds like something Epic would do, but adding an entirely new section to the lobby is rarely done.
This remembers rocket league, another game currently using Epic’s online services. It could be that the developer is taking inspiration from the classic sports car game for a limited time event. Nothing has been confirmed by Epic yet and we will have to wait for the official news before we can say anything for sure about this latest leak.
