Global helicopter operator CHC Helicopter has won a new five-year deal with Shell to support its North Sea operations.
CHC Helicopter, a company specializing in helicopter transport and search and rescue operations, said the multi-million pound contract is for two H175 helicopters, a step towards next-generation aircraft that offer greater efficiency.
The aircraft will be used for transport services to Shell’s new and existing facilities in the central and northern North Sea. CHC will support Shell from its Aberdeen base, with the contract expected to start in July 2023 and run until 2028.
“Shell has been a key client of CHC for nearly a decade, and this latest contract consolidates our long-term strategic relationship in the market. Our North Sea operations continue to go from strength to strength – we have a fantastic team who strive every day to deliver an unrivaled quality service and will ensure that Shell team members can always reach their destinations and return to home safely and efficiently,” said Dave Grant, CHC’s EMEA Sales Director.
“We have been actively supporting the North Sea energy market for decades, combining local market knowledge and experience with an aptitude for innovation, with safety and sustainability at the core of our operations,” added Grant .
It is worth recalling that CHC agreed to sell its Offshore Helicopter Services UK (OHS UK) business to Ultimate Aviation Group in January 2023.
Ultimate Aviation said earlier this week that the acquisition of OHS UK has officially gone ahead. According to its statement, the acquisition is effective immediately and OHS will continue to operate under its current name and the team will remain intact.
