Trinity Exploration & Production has progressed with its activities in Trinidad and Tobago as production at ABM-151 resumed well and preparations to progress well at Jacobin.
The company noted in its statement that well ABM-151 in the Brighton Marine block on the west coast of Trinidad returned to production on March 21, 2023 after an extensive renovation of the facilities surface and the installation of remote monitoring technology. Trinity has a 100% interest in the Brighton Marine licence.
Trinity anticipates steady-state production of ABM-151 in the range of 60-110 bopd. Production has gradually increased since the well restarted and has been flowing at rates in excess of 200 bopd in a 10/64” stranger with a zero percent water cut.
According to Trinity’s update, the well will be closely managed in the coming weeks to achieve stabilized production rates within target guidance and will further benefit from the SCADA automation system the company has installed.
At the Jacobin well site, Trinity said preparations are underway, and the well is expected to grow by the end of April, in line with previous guidance. Trinity has a 100% interest in sublicenses in the Palo Seco area, where nine deeper prospects have already been mapped.
The Jacobin well has been designed to test an extensive, lightly drilled Miocene-age turbidite play in the prolific South Coast Basin and will provide the company with critical new data on this extensive play and the wider Palo acreage dry
The well target is a structural perspective defined in 3D seismic, the company said. The well will target an average oil-in-place volume of 5.7 million barrels and an upside case (P10) of more than 10 million barrels in place.
Trinity makes a technical presentation of its bid in Buenos Aires
Trinity has also made its technical presentation to the Government of Trinidad and Tobago’s Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries on its bid for the Buenos Ayres block in the 2022 onshore and nearshore bidding round.
MEEI is expected to award the licenses in the bidding round during April 2023.
Buenos Ayres is located to the west of Trinity’s existing Palo Seco production sublicenses: Blocks WD-5/6, WD-2 and PS-4.
“I am delighted that we have ABM-151 back in production. We have been looking for ways to increase production across our asset base and identified ABM-151 as a well where we could achieve quick and effective results. The performance initial ABM-151 underlines the potential of our West Coast assets, where we have a number of infill and appraisal opportunities to mature as we look to increase production across the asset base,” he said Jeremy Bridglalsingh, CEO of Trinity.
He added that the Jacobin well is an important catalyst for Trinity, important in its own right, but also the first part of an extensive play where the company mapped multiple additional independent targets across its existing, relatively mature land surface, in addition to having more relevance with regard to the block of Buenos Aires “that we have tendered in the tender round on the ground”.
