Operatives of the Western Security Network Agency, Amotekun Osun State, have announced that they have recovered a wine colored Ford J5 loaded with diesel and motor oil.
The vehicle with registration number SBG126XB was recovered after operatives of the security unit dislodged a group of armed robbers terrorizing motorists on the Akure/Ibadan Expressway during a routine patrol on Friday night.
Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi, the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun, who made this known on Saturday in Osogbo, disclosed that his men swung into action immediately the robbery incident was brought to their attention and dislodged the armed robbers who then fled into the bush.
While explaining that the men in his team had engaged the armed robbers in a shootout, Adewinmbi acknowledged that the expressway has been a perennial root for armed robbers for a long time.
Adewinmbi also stated that the Corps has contacted the owner of the recovered items and the driver through door sheets and the vehicle and the items will be handed over to them.
“Rest assured operatives are working day and night to send criminals out of state.
“I urge residents of the state to report criminals in their locality to security officers and be security conscious at all times.”
