LEE COUNTY, Fla. – A Port Charlotte man was arrested after recklessly fleeing police in a stolen car Friday afternoon.
Miguel Andrade, 22, was driving a stolen Ford Edge SUV south on I-75 from Charlotte County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Officers were alerted to be on the lookout for the stolen SUV when they spotted the car and attempted a traffic stop along mile marker 143.
Andrade refused to stop and continued to flee south.
He eventually lost control of the car and came to rest on the grass shoulder at mile 133.
Andrade was taken to the Lee County Jail and faces charges of auto theft, fleeing and eluding, burglary, theft of a firearm, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, obstruction without violence , reckless driving, no valid license and probation violation. for prior grand theft auto.
