The increase in the prices of Toyota Fortuner variants in Pakistan is attributed to the unstable economic situation and the devaluation of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar.
Higher raw material costs have also forced the Indus Motor Company to increase the prices of its vehicles and pass on the burden to consumers.
Toyota Fortuner was launched in Pakistan in February 2013. The SUV is manufactured locally by Indus Motor Company.
As of March 31, 2023, the Toyota Fortuner is available in five different models: Toyota Fortuner G (4×2 2TR STD Gasoline), Toyota Fortuner V (4×4 2TR HI Gasoline), Toyota Fortuner SIGMA 4 (4× 4 1GD). HI Diesel), Toyota Fortuner Legender (4×4 2755cc Diesel) and Fortuner 4×4 GR-S (2755cc Diesel). The prices for these versions are detailed below.
The Toyota Fortuner G (4×2 2TR STD Petrol) ex-factory price is Rs 15,809,000. The Toyota Fortuner V (4×4 2TR HI Gasoline) has an ex-factory price of Rs 18,099,000, while the ex-factory price of the Toyota SIGMA 4 (4×4 1GD HI Diesel) is Rs 19,079,000. Toyota Fortuner Legender (4×4 2755cc Diesel) ex-factory price is Rs20,129,000, and Toyota Fortuner 4×4 GR-S (2,755cc Diesel) ex-factory price is Rs21,089,000.
Seven color options are available for the SUV, including Attitude Black, Dark Teal Mica, Graphite, Phantom Brown, Silver Metallic, Strong Blue and Super White.
The Toyota Fortuner 2.7G and Toyota Fortuner 2.7V are equipped with a 2.7-litre DOHC Dual VVTi 16-valve petrol engine with a displacement of 2694 cc. The engine can generate a maximum power of 122/5200 kW/rpm and a torque of 245/4000 Nm/rpm.
On the other hand, the Toyota Fortuner 2.8 Sigma 4 and the Toyota Fortuner Legender are powered by a 2.8-liter DOHC 16-valve diesel engine with Intercooler, with a displacement of 2755cc. The engine can produce a maximum power of 150/3000-3400 kW/rpm and a torque of 500/1600-2800 Nm/rpm.
All variants of the Fortuner come with a six-speed sequential transmission equipped with paddle shifters.
The Toyota Fortuner has a fuel efficiency of 9 km/la city and 11 km/la highway, with a fuel tank capacity of 80 liters.
The front of the SUV is designed with an aggressive and eye-catching pontoon-shaped bumper, a larger grille and a unique headlamp trim to maintain the Fortuner identity. An integrated skid plate adds to the SUV’s already rugged presence at the front.
The front of the SUV also features LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) that enhance its sharp and advanced design. The angled headlight design is achieved by separating the turn signal/position light from the headlight.
At the rear, the SUV gets rear combination lamps that have been enhanced by adding surface-emitting materials to the design. This creates a different illumination than the stop light at night. The rear is also equipped with a high-mounted stop lamp and a shark fin antenna.
The Toyota Fortuner comes with convenient features like cruise control and ergonomically designed paddle shifters, making it easy to take control of all the power at your disposal.
Toyota Fortuner comes with a variety of safety features such as Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), SRS airbags, seat belts and door courtesy, among others. The SUV also has vehicle stability control, drive start control, tire turning angle, emergency brake signal, light reminder, engine oil level warning, gear lock system and an anti-theft system.
The interior of the SUV is characterized by premium leather upholstery, wood grain patterned ornaments and illuminated controls, offering a dynamic and relaxed design aesthetic. The SUV is a seven-seater and includes cup holders and ISOFIX anchorages for child seats on both sides of the second row. The third-row seats fold and anchor horizontally, allowing for additional storage space in the vehicle’s cargo area.
The hydraulic power steering has been enhanced with Variable Flow Control (VFC) technology, improving fuel economy, performance and steering feel that matches speed.
