NORTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – A piece of plywood covers a large hole in a Roswell family’s living room. His car was being recovered when it crashed into the wall.
“It was a very close call, to be honest,” said Ben Paul, who lives in the Walnut Street home. “God has us protected.”

Paul said that with four children, including two infants, living in a rented house, he and his wife were struggling to make car payments. Last Wednesday afternoon, they saw their only car stuck and pulled out of their driveway.
But once the truck reached the street, it somehow broke free from the truck and rolled down the driveway, plowing through the front window and into the living room. Paul’s one-year-old and six-week-old babies were in the room at the time and were not injured.
“I heard the loud boom in the living room, and then just the screaming,” Paul said. “The baby was screaming really loud, and then my wife was screaming, so I thought the baby was hurt.” He said the tow truck driver described it as a “freak accident”.

Paul identified the towing company as Dismuke Recovery in Lawrenceville. Channel 2’s Bryan Mims called the company for comment, leaving a message for management, but his call was not returned.
The Paul family has been staying in a hotel since the crash and has launched a GoFundMe page to help pay for a rental car and other mounting expenses. They are awaiting county building permits, Paul said, and it could be weeks before repairs are complete. “Pretty much everything is up in the air right now: transportation, where to live, when the house will be fixed,” he said.
