Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw was involved in a vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon in Center City, police said.
Outlaw’s squad car and another vehicle were involved in the crash at 15th and Race streets shortly before 3 p.m., police said.
The extent of the injuries was not immediately available.
News video from NBC10’s helicopter showed Outlaw walking and not appearing seriously injured. The left front of the Outlaw Police SUV appeared to have struck the front passenger side of another SUV. The airbags in the second SUV appeared to have deployed.
It was unclear whether Outlaw was driving his vehicle or was a passenger.
Police were closing off nearby streets, causing traffic jams in the area.
