LYNDHURST, Ohio —
Obstructing official business: Cedar Road
At 12:50 pm on March 20, police received a report of a man jumping up and down on top of a Kia Soul parked in the lot of Pearl Vision, 24539 Cedar Road in Legacy Village. The 22-year-old man, from Euclid, was holding a rock and shouting and threatening suicide.
The owner of the car, the man’s partner, was inside a nearby business. The man got out of the car, damaged by the jump, and ran into the nearby wooded area. The man was found to be bipolar and was not taking his medication.
Beachwood and South Euclid police helped arrest the man on the grounds of the Mayfield Sand Ridge Club off Sheridan Road. EMS took the man to MetroHealth Hospital in Cleveland Heights. He will be charged with obstructing official business and disorderly conduct.
Criminal trespassing: Cedar Road
At 10:55 p.m. on March 26, police were called to the Cheesecake Factory, 24265 Cedar Road in Legacy Village, where a group of three people were refusing to pay their bill. When the officers arrived, however, the diners had paid the bill.
Police issued one of the parties, a 35-year-old Cleveland woman, with a criminal trespass notice, telling her not to return to the restaurant.
Improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle: Kilbourne Drive
At 6:50 a.m. on March 25, police received reports of a hatchback vehicle driving up and down the street without its lights on. The police located and stopped the vehicle. The driver, a 37-year-old Cleveland man, was known to have mental health issues. He told officers he was trying to check on his sister, who lives down the street.
In the man’s vehicle, police found a handgun. Police charged the man with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
Auto theft: Spencer Road
At 10:25 a.m. March 25, a 30-year-old woman reported that someone entered her parked car overnight. The car was parked, unlocked, in his driveway. She doesn’t think anything was stolen from her.
Public intoxication: Mayfield Road
At 4:15 a.m. on March 26, an officer saw a man walking down the street on Mayfield Road. The man was drunk and had scratches on his legs and face. Police took the 51-year-old Euclid man to Hillcrest Hospital.
Theft: Richmond Road
On March 25 at 10:35 p.m., police were called to CVS/Pharmacy, 1443 Richmond Road, where it was reported that a woman was shoplifting by placing merchandise in a bag she was carrying. Officers spoke with the woman, who was wanted on warrants issued by police at North Randall and Brooklyn.
Neither department was able to pick up the woman, and CVS did not want to be charged with theft. Police issued the 60-year-old Cleveland woman with a criminal trespass warning.
Carrying a concealed weapon: Mayfield Road
At 3:50 p.m. on March 22, three males were reported to have left Buffalo Wild Wings without paying for their order, which totaled $116.65. Police learned three men were seen on Churchill Road and arrested two, aged 18 and 17, from Cleveland.
The younger teenager was found to have a gun and was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and robbery. The 18-year-old was charged with forgery and theft.
Theft: Cedar Road
At 12:50 a.m. March 22, a man was reported to have left Bar Louie, 24337 Cedar Road in Legacy Village, without paying his $50.76 tab. Police located and stopped the car in which the suspect was a passenger.
Police arrested the 20-year-old Euclid man for burglary and found he was wanted on a Maple Heights warrant. The woman driving the car was released without charge.
Overdose: Henning Drive
At 9:45 p.m. March 23, a man reported that his 40-year-old roommate was not alert, but breathing, after taking an unknown drug. EMS took the woman to Hillcrest Hospital.
