According to the US Department of Energy, there are more than 60,000 charging stations available to electric car drivers in the US and Canada. This number includes all legacy loadout levels and options. Some of these networks may associate with each other in some way. Associations offer greater coverage and convenience for electric vehicle (EV) drivers.
Here is a list of charging networks that offer Level 2 and Level 3 DC fast charging stations in the US and Canada.
Note: The list below does not include cargo equipment manufacturers or local municipal programs and initiatives. Describes companies that operate and maintain networks of public electric vehicle charging stations.

Frequently asked questions
Are electric vehicle charging stations free?
No, in most cases. A typical electric car charging station charges a per-minute fee for recharging. Other locations may have rates per kilowatt-hour (kWh), or how much power the electric car receives. Some businesses, such as restaurants, shops or hotels, may offer Level 2 chargers for customers to use at no charge. Several EV manufacturers offer free EV charging in partnership with certain networks. These promotions are usually offered for a limited time, after which regular rates will apply.
Can any electric vehicle use a Tesla charging station?
Tesla recently launched a pilot program that is not Tesla Supercharger. The plan aims to make 3,500 Tesla-brand chargers available to non-Tesla electric vehicles.
Where are the charging stations for electric cars?
Public charging stations are widely available in populated areas such as grocery stores, shopping malls and office parks. These chargers are usually operated by one of the networks mentioned above. Use charging network apps and other sources to navigate to nearby charging stations or plan longer trips.
