After more than 30 years of service to Shell, Harry Brekelmans and Donny Ching will be leaving the company. Shell has looked within its own ranks to find replacements.
The company noted that after 33 years of service at Shell, Harry Brekelmans will step down from his role as director of projects and technology, a position he has held for almost nine years, effective June 30, 2023.
Brekelmans will be replaced by Robin Mooldijk, currently Executive Vice President (EVP) Chemicals & Products, effective July 1, 2023.
Donny Ching, who has been with the company for over 33 years, will step down as Chief Legal Officer, a position he has held for just over nine years, effective June 30, 2023. Philippa Bounds, currently General Counsel, Trading & Supply, will be appointed chief legal officer effective July 1, 2023, Shell’s statement said.
“Harry and Donny have had long and distinguished careers at Shell, and I wish them all the best for the future,” said Shell CEO Wael Sawan. “Harry was instrumental in improving the project and well delivery at Shell, and in developing Shell’s sustainability and carbon ambitions. He launched the Technology Center in Bangalore, transformed its equivalent in Amsterdam and has been a powerful advocate of security, technology and innovation across the enterprise,” adds Sawan.
He also noted that Ching has worked on many important legal cases involving Shell over the years, helping to “make Shell a truly better place to work.”
“I would like to welcome Robin and Philippa to the Executive Committee. They have an important role to play as we build our new senior team to deliver our Powering Progress strategy by providing the energy the world needs, now and in the future. purposefully and cost-effectively,” adds Sawan.
