WARREN COUNTY, NC – Haliwa-Saponi Tribal School announced Tuesday that the student who was hit by a car while getting off the bus in Halifax County on March 15 was returning home.
According to Melissa Richardson with HSTS, 17-year-old Tillman Mitchell was released from the hospital Monday.
The school said they will also hold a day in Mitchell’s honor, called “Tillman Day.”
The school said Tillman Day will be held on Saturday, March 25 in the school cafeteria from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The event will feature many events, including a bake sale and car wash.
