MIDDLE CITY – UPDATE at 4:15 p.m.:
A man is in custody after the body of a 61-year-old woman was found dead in a car in Middletown Tuesday afternoon.
Around 12 p.m., Middletown police and firefighters were called to the area of Hanover Avenue and South Verity Parkway to reports of an unresponsive person inside a car.
After searching the area, they found 61-year-old Constance Reddix dead inside a car.

The preliminary manner of death was listed as a homicide, according to a release from the Butler County Coroner’s Office.
Middletown police said an investigation found Darnell Dollar, 33, had allegedly assaulted Reddix before she was found dead.
Dollar, has been booked into the Middletown City Jail on a charge of murder.

The investigation is “ongoing,” police said.
