A Deputy Communications Officer of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), Samuel Kofi Amoah, has called on the government to ensure that the much touted oil gold deal is reflected in the pumps.
According to the communications officer, the agreement needs to reflect the bombs to dampen Ghanaians following the difficulties that are being experienced in the country.
He urged the government to clarify the deal so that it fully benefits Ghanaians.
He congratulated the government on the agreement.
Mr. Amoah spoke in an interview on Accra 100.5 FM on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.
He further asked the government to set up a committee to manage the gold-for-oil deal.
He said the union is not able to reduce transportation fares because other components of fare management have not seen a reduction.
He argued that transport charges can only be reduced if a liter of fuel is sold at GHS 10.
Amoah added that the price of components such as engine oil and spare parts has not seen any reduction.
