Another day, another blizzard in upstate New York. Starting today, a Nor’easter threatens to dump more than 2 feet of snow on parts of New York State. Gov. Kathy Hochul is warning residents to prepare for a “long-lasting snow event.” Governor Hochul said:
New Yorkers should prepare now for a weather system set to bring significant snowfall to eastern parts of the state, especially areas along the Hudson River and around the Capital Region. I have directed state agencies to prepare emergency response assets and be ready to assist local governments if needed. Anyone in regions affected by the storm should prepare for two to three days of snow and hazardous travel conditions.
Governor Kathy Hochulis is urging New Yorkers to prepare for a major snowstorm that is expected to affect the eastern regions of the state beginning today, Monday, March 13, 2023. Nor’ Easter continues until tomorrow night. Several regions of New York State will be affected.

The Capital Region, Central New York, Mid-Hudson, Mohawk Valley and northern regions could get up to 18 inches of snow. Higher elevations in the Capital and Mid-Hudson regions could receive more than two feet of snow. Western New York and the Finger Lakes regions could get more than half a foot of snow. Snow will start out light this morning and become heavier Monday afternoon through Tuesday night. The snow is expected to be wet and heavy. It will be accompanied by winds of up to 45 miles per hour on Tuesday.

Governor Kathy Hochul announced that residents at risk of having their heating services cut off can get help from New York State.
