Hyundai recently introduced the new Ioniq 5 electric crossover in the country. In addition, the company has introduced the new 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine in the Alcazar 3-row SUV 2023. Hyundai also aims to introduce multiple new products, including updated versions of its existing lineup. This year, Hyundai will launch two new cars in the market in 2023.
Hyundai is all set to launch the next-gen Verna sedan in the country on January 21, 2023. Interested buyers can book the new mid-size sedan online or at authorized dealers by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000. It will be offered with two petrol engines: a 113hp, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated and a 160hp, 1.5-litre petrol turbo. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT.
In terms of proportions, the new Verna measures 4535mm in length, 1765mm in width and 1475mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2670mm. The new model is longer and wider than the outgoing model. In fact, the distance between the axles has been increased by 70 mm. The sedan has the largest trunk space in the segment at 528 liters. The sedan gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, digital driver display, Bose sound system, ventilated and heated front seats, automatic air conditioning and others. The sedan will also get ADAS technology with features like lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, collision avoidance system and others.
Hyundai is preparing a new micro SUV, internally codenamed Ai3, for developing countries. The new model is reported to be launched in our market during the festive season, ahead of Diwali. It will compete with the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger. The new model will be based on the brand’s K1 platform, which also underpins the Casper micro SUV and the Grand i10 Nios. The new Hyundai Ai3 small SUV will share design cues from the Venue compact SUV. It is likely to measure around 3.7-3.8 meters in length and will have a longer wheelbase compared to the regular model.
The new model is likely to share features with the new Grand i10 Nios. In fact, the small SUV will also come with a single-panel sunroof. It is expected to be powered by a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder NA petrol engine that produces 81 PS and 114 Nm of torque. The company might also offer a CNG version of the micro SUV. Manual and AMT gearbox options will be offered.
