SHELBY, NC (WBTV) – No serious injuries were reported after a car plowed into a Shelby sporting goods store Tuesday night.
According to Shelby Fire and Rescue, the incident happened at Dunham Sports inside the Cleveland Mall before 9:30 p.m
Photos showed the car sitting in the middle of the store, appearing to have stopped after hitting a pole.
Shelves and items for sale littered the floor around him.
Officials said crews responded to the scene to help minimize additional damage while removing the vehicle.
It’s unclear why the driver entered the store or if they will face any charges.
