Edgecombe County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Monday after a more than 15-mile car chase ended in a car crash.
The sheriff’s office said officers spotted the car with a registration violation. According to the sheriff’s office, when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver began to reach under his seat.
Sheriff’s deputies then asked the man to get out of the car. Instead, the driver put the car into gear, leading to a chase that ended after a collision in Hobgood.
Deputies then arrested Terrace Ronneail Lloyd.
Lloyd, 31, of Scotland Neck, is charged with felony fleeing or eluding, driving while license revoked, failure to obey lights and sirens and careless or reckless driving.
Authorities took Lloyd to the Edgecombe County Detention Center on $30,000 bond.
