New Delhi, February 22: Hyundai kicked off its new launch schedule for this year with the launch of the Ioniq 5 EV at the 2023 Auto Expo, but the year is still young and South Korea’s massive auto industry has plenty of new models up the sleeve.
Hyundai Motor India is expected to have up to five more launches slated for this year, in order to maintain the appeal of its fresh lineup and beat tough competition in the market. Upcoming Hyundai Car Launches in India in 2023:
New generation Hyundai Verna
The new generation Hyundai Verna will be launched in India on March 21. It will feature a new design language and new features. The next generation Verna will be a petrol only model as its diesel engine has been done away with. It will be powered by a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine which are RDE compliant and support E20 fuel. Hyundai Creta Facelift
The Hyundai Creta SUV has recently received the RDE and E20 compatible engine upgrade, while the facelift model is expected to be launched in the coming months. The facelifted Creta will get a Tucson-inspired design, new features like ADAS, while there will also be a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol mill replacing the 1.4-litre engine.
Hyundai Kona facelift
The Hyundai Kona electric SUV is also expected to come in its facelifted version in India this year. The facelifted Kona EV made its global debut last year with radical design updates, increased dimensions and a host of new features. Kona EV offers a driving range of 452 km which could increase with the improved powertrain in its facelift model.
Hyundai Stargazer MPV
Hyundai Stargazer MPV is also expected to hit the Indian market this year. The minivan had its world premiere last year and is located under the Alcázar. The Stargazer will get a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine mated to a 5-speed MT and IVT. After its launch in India, the Hyundai Stargazer will take on Kia Carens and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga among others.
Hyundai’s new Micro-SUV
An all-new Hyundai micro-SUV is on the anvil and is expected to debut in India later this year. This new micro-SUV will slot below the Venue and will be Hyundai’s most affordable SUV model. This small SUV will share its underpinnings with the Grand i10 platform and take design inspirations from the Casper that is available in some global markets. The micro-SUV will compete with the Tata Punch, Citroen C3 and others in India.
