One of them will be the electric Escalade
Automotive news says the electric Escalade will launch in 2024. It may be called the Escalade IQ. An electric counterpart to the extended-wheelbase Escalade ESV, the Escalade IQL, will follow in 2025.
The other two will be crossovers that hold the Lyriq
Cadillac will also reportedly launch two crossovers in 2024. One will be a compact crossover that will slot below the mid-size Lyriq. The other will be a large crossover that will face above. Cadillac’s XT crossovers are expected to fade from the lineup after its current model runs out.
Getting electric crossovers will require Cadillac to ramp up its EV production dramatically. The brand got off to a slow start with the Lyriq only delivering 122 units in 2022 (we haven’t driven or even spotted one in the wild yet).
But will all these SUVs carry the Cadillac brand?
Car and driver reported, citing an unnamed GM source, that GM is considering branching off some of its most popular vehicles (namely Corvette) into stand-alone brands with multiple vehicles. One of the vehicles reportedly in line for this treatment is the Escalade. This report also noted that there could be a large Escalade crossover.
