engine
For the Gixxer 250 SF, Suzuki has created a unique oil-cooled engine. This 249cc single cylinder engine is fully oil cooled and has no cylinder block fins. By circulating the fluid through the pressure-sensitive regions, it uses engine oil to cool it. Peak torque is slightly lower at 22.2Nm on the BS6-compliant variant, but it produces the same power (26.5PS) as the BS4 version.
The same single-cylinder, 124.9cc, liquid-cooled engine that powers the KTM RC 125 continues to produce 14.9PS and 12Nm. However, KTM has increased the spread of torque by giving it a 40% larger airbox. Plus, a redesigned curved radiator with two fans helps manage heat better than before to make life simpler.
Characteristics
Suzuki used the same design aesthetic for the Gixxer 250 SF as it did for the smaller Gixxer SF. They look the same, but the two models can be distinguished by minor color changes. The Suzuki Gixxer 250 now gets LED tail and headlights, giving it a robocop-like look. It sports a fully digital instrument panel with the typical amount of information you see on a bike of its caliber, including a gear position indicator, a clock and a few meters of travel.
Recent changes to the RC 125 supersport have been significant. It gets a redesigned front fascia that is similar to its bigger siblings, the RC 200 and RC 390, and features a unipod halogen headlamp. It also gets new fairing-integrated LED indicators and an LED taillight. A new LCD console, similar to the one on the KTM 250 Adventure, has replaced the orange backlit instrument console.
Price in India
The Suzuki Gixxer 250 SF is priced at Rs 2,02,000 for the Metallic Matte Stellar Blue and Metallic Matte Black No.2 color schemes, and Rs 2,02,500 for the range-topping ‘Metallic Sonic Silver with Triton Blue’ (both ex-showroom of exhibitions Delhi).
The RC 125, KTM’s smallest supersport, is priced at Rs 1,86,861. (ex-showroom Delhi).
