Oil changes are necessary for all car owners, but a study by Cooper Tires revealed that only 33 percent of motorists feel confident about undergoing this vital maintenance task.
Fortunately, TikTok mechanic Daimee has broken gender stereotypes and posted a video showing how simple it is to change your oil.
Daimee lists the first step of an oil change as removing the drain plug from the car.
When this cap is removed, the old oil flows out of the vehicle.
He is also shown recycling oil from the vehicle he is draining.
Used motor oil can be re-refined into lubricants, fuel oils and other raw materials for the refining and petrochemical industries, reports the US Environmental Protection Agency.

Daimee then loosens and removes the oil filter from the car.
These filters should be replaced during an oil change, as their ability to remove contaminants from the oil decreases over time.
Unfiltered motor oil can be filled with tiny, hard particles that wear down engine surfaces.
Daimee also changes the o-ring on the new oil filter to establish a seal of quality.
After the new oil filter is installed, this mechanic and TikTok creator’s final step is to add new oil.
Most cars have new oil added to the front near the engine and dipstick.
One viewer complimented Daimee’s auto skills as well as her looks, writing, “I’m a mechanic myself, but I’d even pay [Daimee] to change [the] the oil in my car.”
Another mechanic with the TikTok handle @Vermilionvixen posted a video of herself working on cars with an overlay that read: “I’ve met men who couldn’t do an oil change.
“It’s about ability, not gender.”
